Koh Lao Lading is another tropical island gem in the Hong Island archipelago.
Lao Lading Island or Koh Lao Lading “เกาะเหลาลาดิง” is about 2.5 kilometres North of Hong Island.
On this island there are two small bays with sandy beaches and there are some beautiful views around the island. The beaches are not really wide but they are very picturesque and provide some good shady areas where you can rest on a hot day and enjoy the sounds of a gentle sea.
Lao Lading is part of the Than Bok Khorani National Park. There are normally rangers on the island to protect the natural flora and fauna and keep the beaches clean.
Swimming & Snorkelling
The main bay is well sheltered by the limestone cliff walls so it is safe for swimming. At times the bay can be be busy with small boats so be aware if you are swimming away from the beach.
Take a diving mask and snorkel and follow the edge of the bay by the rock walls and you will see some corals, tropical ocean fish and marine life.
Red Bull Cliff Diving
In October 2013 Koh Lao Lading hosted the final round of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Competition. The island provided a spectacular natural setting for these world class athletes to perform.
